Southern Cavefish, Typhlicthys subterraneous

The southern cavefish is an eyeless, pink and white fish that reaches lengths of 8 to 9 cm.  Cavefish populations are minimal and very vulnerable in Indiana.  They are found in subterranean waters, such as pools of cave streams.  This fish is vulnerable to habitat transformation and pollution, which is common in Indiana caves.
