Conservation Biology in Indiana

"A thing is right when it tends to preserve the integrity, stability, and beauty of the biotic community. It is wrong when it tends otherwise."

                        - Aldo Leopold, A Sand County Almanac

Conservation biology is a crisis discipline involving the impact of human population growth and its detrimental effects on biodiversity. It focuses on the protection and management of our physical and natural world.

The purpose of this website is to compile conservation  biology information for public awareness, sudent research, and the spearheading of volunteer efforts, specifically by identifying Indiana's imperiled taxa and native ecosystems.
