Deam’s
Dewberry, Rubus
centralis
Deam’s dewberry, a
trailing bramble, is endemic to Indiana and possibly Michigan.
The dewberry requires some amount of disturbance and sunlight, and
thick growth or too much shade will kill the plant.
Wooded growth is its biggest threat.
Controlled fires and removal of invasive species can save Deam’s
dewberry populations.
