The bobcat is globally stable, yet is critically imperiled in Indiana.  Range-wide, there are roughly 10,000 individual bobcats in North America.  The bobcat is a medium-sized cat, which resides in deciduous and coniferous woodlands and forest edges, swamps, deserts, mountains, and other area with thick undergrowth.  They are primarily terrestrial and when resting, they stay in caves and hollow logs.  Their endangerment is due mainly to habitat transformation.
